Learn the Polish alphabet


The Polish alphabet is based on the Latin alphabet, but Q, V and X only appear in foreign words. It also has a number of diacritical characters such as Ą, Ć, Ę, Ł, Ń, Ó, Ś, Ź and Ż.

Nasal Sounds


Polish nasal sounds ą and ę are similar to French sounds found in words like France and vin, while Polish ń is somewhat similar to the Spanish letter ñ, as in the word español.
