Polish A1 Class – Polish Course for Beginners

Course Format:

This is an intensive Polish language course conducted online.

Course Description:

The course is intended for students who have never studied Polish before, as well as for those who would like to refresh their basic knowledge of the language. The course is conducted in Polish, with English used as a supporting language. The target level upon completion is A1. The curriculum consists of 24 teaching hours over 12 sessions (see schedule below).

During the course, you will learn practical Polish from a native speaker, gain a solid foundation in grammar, and practice vocabulary necessary for everyday communication. You will also learn to understand spoken Polish.

The program includes learning to read and write in Polish, as well as correct pronunciation and stress patterns. Throughout the course, the following skills will be developed: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will learn basic vocabulary related to the following topics: introducing yourself, making acquaintances, describing people and rooms, free time, hobbies, family, travel, shopping and eating out, and the city.

Topics Covered:

• Alphabet and pronunciation

• Greetings, basic phrases and expressions

• Numbers and counting (0–1000)

• Telling the time and date

• Adjectives, colors, days, months, and seasons

• Taking about the family

• Introduction to cases: accusative and instrumental

• Conjugation of regular verbs (-m, -sz)

• Modal verbs

• Means of transport and verbs of movement
